Straight answers and clean work from a Waldwick shop that's been on Campbell Street for more than a decade. Residential and light commercial. No runaround, no gotchas, and a real person on the phone every time you call.
"Same shop, same phone number, same electrician on the truck."
We're a small residential and light commercial shop working out of 48 Campbell Street. We've spent more than a decade on the electrical systems that Bergen County homes actually have: 1920s colonials near the train station, mid-century ranches, and newer builds up toward Saddle River and Franklin Lakes.
That means we know the local pattern. Federal Pacific panels sitting in a lot of North Jersey basements. Knob-and-tube left in pre-war walls. Aluminum branch circuits from the early '70s. We tell you what we find in plain language, quote the work before we start, and coordinate the service side with PSE&G so you're not chasing the utility yourself.
We're not the biggest shop in the county, and that's the point. You get the same electrician who's built a reputation one honest job at a time, not whoever a dispatcher happened to send. When we say we'll be there, we mean it. When we quote a job, that's the number you pay.
Bergen County housing stock runs the full range, so our work does too. Tap any service to see how we approach it, or call and we'll talk it through in a couple of minutes.
200-amp service upgrades, Federal Pacific and Zinsco replacements, and sub-panel additions. PSE&G coordination handled start to finish.
→ SERVICE / 02Older-home rewiring done right. Knob-and-tube, cloth-covered cable, and aluminum branch circuits pulled and replaced.
→ SERVICE / 03Tesla, ChargePoint, and Wallbox Level 2 chargers, sized to your service and how you actually drive.
→ SERVICE / 04Burning smells, dead circuits, and a panel that won't reset. We answer 24/7 across Bergen County.
→ SERVICE / 05Standby generator hookups sized and set to NJ clearances, with the transfer switch wired clean.
→ SERVICE / 06Breakers that trip, buzz, or won't reset. We find the real cause instead of just swapping parts.
→ SERVICE / 07Buying, selling, or just want to know what's behind the walls. A clear read on your whole system.
→ SERVICE / 08Whole-house surge protection at the panel, so PSE&G blips and summer storms don't cook your electronics.
→ SERVICE / 09Recessed lighting, fixture swaps, and fan installs, including tricky older ceilings and switch loops.
→That's the short list. We also handle outlets and switches, smoke detector code work, and the full residential electrical scope for homes across the area.
Federal Pacific Electric was based in Newark, so Stab-Lok panels went into a huge share of North Jersey homes built between the 1950s and 1980s. Independent testing found many of those breakers fail to trip under overload. A 2002 New Jersey court ruling found the company had misrepresented its testing.
Zinsco panels have their own version of the same problem. If your panel carries either name, it isn't a cosmetic issue, and it's one of the first things a home inspector or insurer flags. We replace them properly and document the work so your coverage isn't in question.
If you're buying or selling anywhere nearby, this is the panel that shows up in the inspection report and stalls the deal. Getting ahead of it is almost always cheaper and a lot calmer than scrambling the week of closing.
Ask Us About Your Panel →Tap what's happening at your place. We'll tell you what it usually points to and what to do next. When in doubt, the safe move is always to call.
We'll show a plain-language read on what it usually means. This is general guidance, not a diagnosis over the internet.
A charger is only as good as the panel behind it. We run a real load calculation first, check whether your existing service can carry the added draw, and coordinate with PSE&G when an upgrade is part of the job.
We install Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, Wallbox, and other Level 2 units, set on a dedicated circuit and placed where the cable actually reaches your car. No extension cords, no borrowed circuits, no guesswork.
We'll talk through where the charger should live, too. Garage, driveway, or the side of the house, the goal is a clean run and a spot that fits how you park. Small decisions up front save you from a cord stretched across the garage every single night.
Talk Through Your EV Setup →Waldwick was a rail hub by 1886, and a lot of the surrounding boroughs filled in with homes long before central air, EV chargers, and modern kitchens existed. That history is still sitting in the walls. Most of the calls we get trace back to the same handful of aging systems, and knowing which one you've got changes everything about the fix.
Whether it turns into a targeted repair, a fresh installation, or ongoing maintenance, the first step is the same. Someone who actually knows this housing stock takes a look and tells you what's really going on, before anyone starts pulling wire.
We're a few minutes from most of the boroughs that border Waldwick, all on PSE&G territory. Here are three of the towns we're in most often. Tap through for the local picture, or call and we'll tell you if you're in range.
Grand older homes near the CBD and the train line, many with panels and wiring well past their prime. Panel and rewire country.
// 07423 ● BOROUGHEstablished homes on quiet streets, plenty of them adding EV chargers and standby generators. We know the local service picture.
// 07401 ● BOROUGHA mix of pre-war colonials and mid-century ranches, which means knob-and-tube, aluminum branch wiring, and dated panels.
We also cover Wyckoff, Midland Park, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Glen Rock, Ramsey, and the rest of the boroughs within about fifteen minutes of Campbell Street. Not sure if that's you? Give us a call and we'll tell you straight.
A few jobs that show the kind of work we do most weeks. Names and exact addresses stay private, but the housing stock and the fixes are real Bergen County situations.
A buyer's inspection flagged a Stab-Lok panel near the train station. We pulled it, set a new 200-amp service, cleaned up a stack of double-tapped breakers, and coordinated the cutover with PSE&G so the family had power back the same day.
New EV in the driveway, older 150-amp panel in the garage. We ran the load calc, made room on the panel, and set a dedicated circuit for the Wall Connector so it charges at full speed without tripping the rest of the house.
The homeowner's carrier warned about aluminum branch wiring and old knob-and-tube in the attic. We replaced the affected runs, brought the circuits up to current code, and documented everything so the coverage question went away.
A real person picks up, day or night. Tell us what's happening and where you are.
We come out, find the actual problem, and explain what we see without the jargon.
A clear price for the work before we start. You decide with the full picture in front of you.
The work gets done right, the panel gets labeled, and we handle PSE&G when the job calls for it.
Panels, rewires, EV chargers, generators, and emergencies. One call gets a real electrician who tells you what's going on and what it takes to fix it.
