Bergen County towns share a housing pattern, and after more than a decade working them we know it well. Waldwick was a rail hub by the 1880s, so the older neighborhoods carry knob-and-tube and cloth-covered wiring. The postwar ranches in Allendale and Wyckoff often hide aluminum branch circuits. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels turn up everywhere, since Federal Pacific was a Newark company and these panels went into North Jersey homes by the thousand.
